Henderson County, Tennessee Poll Officials are the best in the state and are dedicated to the election
process and help Henderson County voters have a positive voting experience. On Election Day they
work at the 14 different polling places throughout the county. See the “Voting Precincts” under the
Voters tab on our homepage to see each different polling location. On Election Day, the polls are open from 8:00am until 7:00pm.
Some Poll Officials also work at the Election Office in Lexington for the Early Voting two-week period.
Early Voting runs Monday, Wednesday, Fridays 9:00am until 4:00pm, Tuesday & Thursdays 9:00am until 6:00pm, and Saturdays 9:00 until 12:00. Workers report in 30 minutes early and stay approx. 30
minutes later.
All Poll Officials are required to attend an approximate hour long “School of Instruction” prior to each
Election Period. The Election Administrator will set the date for each election’s school.
Elections could not happen without the citizens of Henderson County who serve, and staff polling
locations and ensure ballots are issued, cast & counted in a fair, secure, and efficient manner. Please
consider working with Henderson County Election Commission as a Poll Official.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years old and a resident of Henderson County.
If 18, or older, must be a registered voter in Henderson County.
Must be willing to share with Election Administrator your Party preference. (Ex: Democrat or
Republican)
Must be willing to work assigned times for Early Voting or Election Day.
Must be able to provide your own transportation to and from training and polling location.
